In order to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a first-of-its-kind ‘Floating Multi Media Light and Sound Show’ was organized by CS Direkt Events & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. for the Dept. of Information and Public Relations, Govt. Of Punjab, on two floating stages(636 sq mtr, 148tonne) which were supplied by AIPL. The product was nothing short of a challenge, involving coordination between such a large team, taken with responsibility and consideration of safety of crew onboard. While designing the float, the loads including the set structure and stability had to be especially kept in mind. It also had to be compatible for traversing the long distances across the starting and end points of the event on the rivers Sutlej and Beas without compromising on the durability. It facilitated the attendance of several residents along the banks who were unable to make it to the main celebrations.
